Pattern Stitch

The directions for the pattern stitch are correct as written. Because the stitch count varies in the odd-numbered rows of the pattern, some customers have been concerned that they are working the pattern incorrectly. To help you work the front and back, we are providing the number of stitches that you should have at the end of the odd-numbered rows when you work the front and back pieces.

Row 1: 99 (123) sts
Row 3: 115 (143) sts
Row 5: 111 (138 sts
Row 7: 119 (148) sts
Row 9: 115 (143) sts
Row 11: 115 (143) sts
Row 13: 91 (113) sts

Sleeves, first bullet:

• With larger needles, cable CO 49 sts. Work rows 1 - 14 of Peri's parasol patt, including selvage sts and St sts as follows:
  Row 1 (RS): P1 (selvage st), K1, work patt row 1, rep from * to * a total of 2 times, K1, P1 (selvage st).
  Row 2: K1, P1, work patt row 2, rep from * to * a total of 2 times, P1, K1.
  Cont in established patt through row 14.
